Peace hanging by a thread: US attack

23 Jun

Attacks in the mountainous region of Iran where there are nuclear power plants have made the international climate tense this weekend, how will Iran retaliate ? other countries could get involved ?

The US’s direct-entry into the Iran-Israel war points to a fragile balance of a total escalation in the great local wars, and we mustn’t forget the African wars that cause famine and displacement of populations, as well as the scourges that accompany them.

On the night of Saturday to Sunday (22/06), the US bombed the Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan nuclear power plants, only the American weaponry carried by the B-2 Spirit aircrafts hitting the equipment located below ground in the mountains.

Several analysts, such as Aaron David Miller of CNN, believe that there will be no retaliation from Iran, however the cities of Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem have been bombed again, Iranian TV has said that “any citizen” in the region is a target, while the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has said that the US “has neither the initiative nor the capacity” for a response, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arachchi has said that he will act in “self-defense”.

The G7 meeting in Canada, attended by Brazil, brought together Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the European Union; it demonstrated a clear defense of Ukraine and is also a warning to the whole of Europe in the event of any provocation from Russia.

In the early hours of Sunday to Monday (23/06), Yemen announced its entry into the war and asked foreign ships to withdraw from the area, and Iran’s council announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz (photo), where 1/3 of the world’s oil passes through.

There’s always a thread of hope, the one that cherishes sincere hearts of true humanism, not those who talk about peace by invoking war, an international war will be an even greater tragedy than the one we’ve all already witnessed, it’s not a question of which side but of being against any escalation, provocation or false intentions of peace.

In the squares and on the streets there is no shortage of incitement to war, shouting that this one is crueler and that one is just defending himself, but this is not the case, economic and geopolitical interests are hidden in the speeches, there will only be a response to peace if there is a higher intention than war in our hearts.

There are no fans, it’s not a world cup of nations, it’s an open and open dispute over the territory and wealth of nations, which must be respected in their self-determination.

Until this peace comes, we can only cultivate peace and hope in our hearts and not adhere to the climate of hatred and war.
